Airport Master Plan Introduction
Rawlins Carbon County Airport Board is currently preparing an Airport Master Plan for Rawlins Municipal Airport/Harvey Field (RWL) to determine the Airports’ current and future development needs. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recommends that the RWL Master Plan be updated every 10 years. A Master Plan was last completed for RWL in 2009. The update will be completed in about 12 months.
The primary objective of the RWL Master Plan will be to reassess RWL development issues, needs, and priorities, and prepare a 20-year development plan. The purpose of a master plan is not to resolve airport maintenance, operations, property leasing, management, and policies issues; however, when these issues are identified during the master planning process, they will be documented so that they can be considered outside of the master plan process.
